On March 5, 2026, a project meeting of the REVFIN partners was held in Nha Trang (Vietnam), where the progress of all work packages was reviewed. The partners presented their achieved results, discussed the remaining tasks, and agreed on the final steps towards the successful completion of the project.
The final conference of the project took place on March 6–7, 2026, as part of the international conference “MALISPACE”. The event brought together researchers and experts from ten countries, who presented the results of their work in the fields of sustainable development, marine ecosystems, and waste management.
During the conference, the project team presented the key outcomes of REVFIN, including innovative approaches to recycling marine litter—particularly discarded fishing gear—into valuable new materials. These developments contribute to the advancement of the circular economy and help reduce marine pollution. In addition, conference participants had the opportunity to visit and explore the project’s demonstration center, where practical solutions and technologies developed within REVFIN were showcased.
A particularly significant highlight of the conference was the first-ever awarding of honorary doctorates by Nha Trang University. Professors involved in the project were among the first recipients of this distinction, underlining the high level of international cooperation and the scientific impact of the REVFIN project.

The conference also attracted attention from Vietnamese media. Publications and reports highlighted innovative approaches to marine waste recycling and the project’s importance for regional environmental protection. Coverage of the event appeared:
