Coordination Meeting

Vietnam visits Wolfsburg

From September 16th to 20th, 2024, we had the pleasure of welcoming our project partners from NTU, HLU, KGU, and RIMF for a productive and engaging week at Ostfalia University in Wolfsburg. This visit significantly advanced our project goals and served as an excellent opportunity for dissemination and knowledge exchange.

The week started with internal meetings, where we discussed the project’s objectives, roles, and task distribution in detail. These meetings helped align our efforts and strengthened collaboration among the partners. As part of the visit, we had the opportunity to showcase our facilities at the Heinenkamp Technical Center. Our guests were given a tour of the labs focused on plastic analysis, processing, and testing—key areas of our project. The tour, led by experts from the Institute for Recycling, provided valuable insights into our capabilities in sustainable materials research and development. We also visited the Faculty of Transport-Sports-Tourism-Media in Salzgitter, where we introduced our partners to the Media Department’s film and sound studios. The program included an overview of the campus history, demonstrating its role in academic research and innovation.

Another highlight of the week was our visit to the National Jürgens Brewery in Braunschweig, where one of the professors from our institute is a shareholder. Our guests enjoyed a guided tour of the brewery, followed by a beer tasting event, which added a unique cultural element to their stay. Beyond project discussions, we organized guided tours in Wolfsburg, Braunschweig, and Salzgitter. These visits offered our partners a chance to explore the region, while also learning more about the historical and industrial significance of these cities. On Wednesday evening, we hosted a special event attended by guests from politics, industry, and funding bodies. This gathering provided an excellent platform for networking, exchange of ideas, and sharing the progress of our ongoing project. It also served as a successful dissemination measure, raising awareness about our research and fostering new partnerships.

Our partners departed on Friday, September 20th, after a week full of fruitful discussions, knowledge sharing, and exploration. This visit brought us closer as a project team and significantly advanced our collaboration.

We are excited to continue working together on the project’s objectives and are confident that this successful visit will strengthen the long-term impact of our project!
